The third season of “Wynonna Earp” started with a bang, and it ended with several interesting developments including the breaking of the Earp Family Curse by Bulshar (Jean Marchard) after Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano) rallied the Revenants to her cause. The good news is that the series is not going to end on a cliffhanger because “Wynonna Earp” Season 4 is already scheduled to premiere in 2019 so fans can rest assured that they will see their favorite program again.
So what’s going to happen in “Wynonna Earp” Season 4 now that the Earp Curse is broken?
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “Wynonna Earp” creator/showrunner Emily Andra talked about what viewers can expect next season, and he noted that Wynonna doesn’t need the powers she had as an heir to the Earp Family Curse.
“Wynonna has only ever been a screw-up. An underdog. And yet, time and time again, she gets up in the morning (often hungover) and tries to do what's right, even when it's hard. She doesn't need a magic demon-slaying gun or special Earp powers to get up and do that,” Andra said.
“What she needs is something to fight for. And people to fight with. And now, going into season four, with her dysfunctional band of dipshits -- wherever they ultimately have disappeared to -- she has both,” she added.
Meanwhile, viewers will likely learn more about Waverly's (Dominique Provost-Chalkley) healing powers in “Wynonna Earp” Season 4. The revelation that Wynonna’s ex-boyfriend, Charlie (Sebastian Pigott), was Waverly's father, the angel Julian, was mind-boggling. Being a half-angel would explain Waverly's healing powers. Interestingly, Julian was the original owner of Bulshar's ring, so Waverly's now wearing her father’s ring.
Not much is known about “Wynonna Earp” Season 4 right now since the third season just ended, but more details will be disclosed in the coming months.
