With E3 2021 happening in a few days, more video game leaks are emerging online, including a claim that Firaxis Games is developing a new Marvel title with a gameplay similar to “XCOM.” The project could be one of the announcements 2K has planned this month.

A Reddit leak is making the rounds recently that made several claims about upcoming 2K-published games. One that has been getting plenty of attention is a supposed “XCOM”-like game based on the Marvel universe. The project is said to be codenamed “CODA” and will feature turn-based gameplay and might even feature “famous actors” to voice some of the characters.

The rumor got even more attention when well-known gaming insiders have chimed in to confirm that the CODA project really exists. Jason Schreier shared an article about the leak and said it is real, although he is not certain if all the game developments mentioned would be presented at E3. Jeff Grubb also tweeted about the leaked “XCOM”-like Marvel game vouching that the report is true.

There are three other developments mentioned in the same leak. For one, the Reddit user said former Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki is going to be one of the featured athletes on the cover of “NBA 2K22.” But considering that Nowitzki has retired, he could appear in the game’s next Legend Edition.

Another widely discussed leak from the Reddit post is a supposed “Borderlands” spin-off that focuses on Tiny Tina from a “Borderlands 2” campaign add-on. The development is internally called Daffodil but it could be titled “Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands,” based on the same source. “Seems to be the same style as all other Borderlands games with ‘Multiclass-Heroes’ to play as,” the post reads.

A new action game is also in the works with a logo that reportedly looks like “Fallout” and a gameplay described as “Cthulhu meets Saints Row.” The leaker’s source was not certain about the studio developing the new IP, but the Reddit user speculates it is Hangar 13 based on a previously revealed contract that says the developer is working on an open-world game with sci-fi and supernatural elements.
