The “Inuyasha” franchise has been revived over the weekend with the premiere of “Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon” on the small screen. Fans in the different parts of the world might still be looking up how they can watch the new episodes as they arrive. Luckily, more platforms have announced simulcast streaming of the new anime series.
‘Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon’ episode 2 release date
New episodes of “Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon” will be released in Japan every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. JST through YTV and NTV networks. “Yashahime” episode 2 will be released on Oct. 10.
While the service is called “simulcast,” it usually takes 30 minutes to an hour for new episodes to become available on other regions through paid, official streaming platforms. For example, subscribers of premium Crunchyroll services are promised to get the new episodes every Saturday at 6 a.m. ET. Expect the same broadcast schedule on Funimation and Hulu.
All three streaming platforms offer free trials. Crunchyroll and Funimation will let new subscribers use their premium services for free in 14 days while Hulu offers a one-month free trial. Fans can opt not to pay for the subscription after the trial period, but they will be asked to enter an active payment channel to enjoy the free trial.

What’s the story of ‘Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon’
While some call “Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon” a spin-off, it seems more accurate to call it a sequel to the original “Inuyasha” anime series that ended in 2010. The story takes place several years after the events of the first series and focuses on new main characters who are in their teenage years. They are twin sisters Towa and Setsuna, the daughters of Sesshomaru, and their cousin Moroha, the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome.
The synopsis confirms Sesshomaru’s daughters are half-demon twins who got separated due to a fire accident. Towa ended up finding the tunnel that brought her to modern times and grew up with the family of Kagome’s younger brother. At the start of “Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon,” the tunnel has reopened 10 years later reuniting Setsuna and Towa, but the latter has no recollection of who is her twin sister. With Moroha, the trio starts their own journey between two different times to help Setsuna remember.
