Indian data centre operator Yotta Data Services has announced plans to invest more than $2 billion to develop one of Asia’s largest AI computing hubs, powered by Nvidia’s latest Blackwell Ultra chips. The large-scale AI infrastructure project highlights India’s growing role in the global artificial intelligence and cloud computing ecosystem.
As part of the initiative, Yotta will enter a four-year engagement valued at over $1 billion with Nvidia. Under this agreement, Nvidia will deploy one of the Asia-Pacific region’s largest DGX Cloud clusters within Yotta’s data centre infrastructure. The advanced AI supercluster is expected to go live by August and will significantly boost India’s high-performance computing capabilities.
The new AI computing hub will be primarily located at Yotta’s data centre campus near New Delhi, with additional capacity supported by its Mumbai facility. The expansion aims to meet rising demand for generative AI services, machine learning workloads, and enterprise cloud solutions across India and the broader Asia-Pacific market.
The announcement comes as global technology giants such as Microsoft and Amazon continue expanding their AI data centre capacity in India. Increasing adoption of artificial intelligence, combined with government efforts to localize advanced computing infrastructure, has accelerated investments in hyperscale data centres and AI cloud services.
The project also reflects the impact of US export controls on advanced AI chips, which have reshaped global supply chains and encouraged deeper technology partnerships in strategic markets like India. By strengthening its collaboration with Nvidia, Yotta is positioning itself as a key player in India’s AI infrastructure landscape.
Yotta Data Services, part of billionaire Niranjan Hiranandani’s real estate group, currently operates three data centre campuses in Mumbai, Gujarat, and near New Delhi. With this new investment, the company aims to solidify its leadership in AI data centres and support India’s ambitions to become a global AI powerhouse.
