Zcash (ZEC) developers have proposed block 3,543,405 as NU7’s mainnet activation point, giving the upgrade a specific marker for its Nov. 5 target while the decision remains pending.

Two approvals have been recorded, but the proposal remains open. Neither the deployment specification nor node software includes the proposed height, leaving it unfinalized.

Under the proposal, NU7 would reduce Zcash’s target block interval from 75 seconds to 25 and place 60% of transaction fees in a reserve for future issuance. NU7 is running on Zcash’s public test network; mainnet deployment remains pending.

An EconoTimes report on the Oct. 20 NU7 draft said the mainnet height was still marked “TBD,” before developers put forward the new figure.

Earlier EconoTimes coverage said ZIP-218’s faster confirmations are intended to support payments, deposits and cross-chain operations. It also noted that Blossom cut Zcash’s target block interval from 150 seconds to 75 seconds.

A decision on the proposed height and the Nov. 5 target are the next checkpoints for NU7.
