Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has warned that intelligence reports continue to indicate the possibility of a large-scale Russian missile and drone attack on Ukraine, urging citizens to remain vigilant and closely monitor air raid alerts across the country.
In his nightly address on Monday, Zelenskiy said that Ukrainian intelligence agencies had received ongoing warnings about a potential major Russian strike. According to the president, Russian forces appear to have prepared for a significant attack, prompting Ukrainian defense units to maintain a heightened state of readiness around the clock.
Zelenskiy emphasized that Ukraine’s military and air defense personnel are operating at full capacity with the resources currently available. He noted that the country’s defenders remain prepared to respond to any escalation and are working continuously to protect civilians and critical infrastructure from potential threats.
The warning comes amid growing tensions following recent statements from Russia. Last week, Russian officials announced plans to carry out what they described as “systematic strikes” targeting locations in Kyiv associated with the Ukrainian military, as well as key decision-making centers. Moscow also advised foreign nationals to leave the Ukrainian capital, raising concerns about a possible intensification of the conflict.
The latest alert follows one of the most intense Russian bombardments of Kyiv since the war began in 2022. The attack caused significant concern among residents and underscored the ongoing risks facing Ukraine’s capital as the conflict continues.
As fears of another large-scale assault grow, Ukrainian authorities are urging residents to stay informed through official channels, follow safety instructions, and respond immediately to air raid warnings. The situation remains fluid, with security officials closely monitoring developments and preparing for any potential escalation in the coming days.
The Russia-Ukraine war continues to shape regional security, with both sides remaining engaged in a prolonged and increasingly complex conflict.
