To successfully meet future health care needs, the health care workforce needs to change and adapt to new ways of working, and as a result the traditional professional roles of 'doctor' and 'nurse' are being re-evaluated. As these roles change, the need for appropriate, effective, applied education has 'snowballed', and I have developed a national profile for my work in applied curriculum development and innovation.

There is now a wider recognition of the need for evaluating new roles and the education that underpins them. As the need for health care workforce specialist expertise grows, I have made a number of successful bids for funding through larger public sector organisations such as Health Education England (HEE). From a workforce perspective, I am keen to work with and support third sector and 'not for profit' enterprise, particularly at a local level. In addition to the work that I have undertaken with these larger public sector partners such as HEE and NHS England (NHSE), I have developed strong educational links with a smaller Community Interest Company (CIC). CICs are designated 'not for profit' social enterprises.
