PhD Candidate, School of Historical and Philosophical Studies, University of Melbourne
I am a PhD candidate at the University of Melbourne in the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies. My dissertation explores the long term resettlement experiences of Sri Lankan Tamils who arrived to Australia during the late twentieth century. I use oral histories of Tamils living in Sydney and Melbourne, and archival materials collected in Australia and Sri Lanka to explore the interplay of war, memory and resettlement. Outside of university I work as a social researcher for Anglicare Victoria. My broad research interests include refugee resettlement, refugee services and child welfare programs.
