Dr. David P. Baker is Professor Sociology, Education, and Demography at the Pennsylvania State University, and a Nonresident Fellow, Global Economy and Development, Center for Universal Education, The Brookings Institute, Washington DC. His research focuses on the impact of education on individuals and societies, economies, and science; international comparisons of school organization; academic outcomes, and educational policy. His most recent books are The Schooled Society: The Educational Transformation of Global Culture.
