Laurie Mintz
Emeritus Professor of Psychology, University of Florida
Dr. Laurie Mintz is a feminist author, therapist, emeritus professor, and speaker whose life’s work has been committed to helping people live more authentic, meaningful, and joyful lives through the art and science of psychology.
While both a tenured Professor, and now and Emeritus Professor at the University of Florida, Dr. Mintz teaches the Psychology of Human Sexuality to hundreds of undergraduate students each year. Mintz has published over 50 research articles in academic journals and six chapters in academic books. She has received numerous professional and teaching awards. She is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, indicating that her work has had a positive national influence on the field of psychology.
She is the author of two popular press books—both written with the aim of empowering women sexually and both with published studies showing that women who read them enhance their sexual functioning: Becoming Cliterate: Why Orgasm Equality Matters and How to Get it (HarperOne, 2017) and A Tired Woman’s Guide to Passionate Sex: Reclaim Your Desire and Reignite Your Relationship (Adams Media, 2009). Becoming Cliterate has received national awards and international acclaim, earning Mintz a spot on Forbes "50 over 50" list of women innovators. Mintz also gives presentations and workshops to professionals and lay audiences and is often quoted in national and international media.
For over 25 years, Dr. Mintz has also maintained a small private practice, working with both individuals and couples on general and sexual issues. One of her greatest honors is supporting her clients during difficult times, as well as helping them make positive changes and reach life goals.

I am a third-year Post-Bachelor Fellow at the University of Washington (UW) Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), and a part-time UW graduate student in the MS Health Metrics Sciences program with graduation in August 2023. At IHME, I am responsible for diabetes mellitus disease burden and high fasting plasma glucose risk burden estimates for the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study.
In 2020, I received my undergraduate degrees in Public Health-Global Health (BS) and Economics (BA). By being able to take courses in both these majors, I was able to explore my interests in global health economics and the crucial intersection between financial stability and health. As an undergraduate, I was able to participate in a study abroad program through the School for International Training (SIT) in India focusing on public health, gender equality, and community-based initiatives. I was also an Undergraduate Research Assistant on the Cost Effectiveness team at IHME before continuing at IHME as a Post-Bachelor Fellow.

Lavina Sequera is a Masters graduate, a merit scholarship holder (2022-2023) from the University for Peace - UN Mandated (UPEACE) in International Law and Human Rights, with an internship with the Natural Sciences Unit at the United Nations Education, Science and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO as a Scientific Researcher to the Chief of the Unit. With over 16 years dedicated towards social and humanitarian initiatives across Government, Private and Not-for-Profit’s in India, she spearheaded India’s largest rural CSR program for Hindustan Unilever Ltd. spanning across 70,000 villages in 2010-12 and yet again, established a women’s empowerment, income-generating program across 600+ rural artisans, preserving endangered craftwork for Souvenirs of Soil Pvt. Ltd.
In the past, she supported humanitarian initiatives such as mapping rural Tanzania to combat Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) under the aegis of the UN; mediated legal / international aid sustaining the welfare of children in an orphanage in Madhya Pradesh, volunteered for the Blind School in Worli, Mumbai, for Street Children in Mumbai Central, Mumbai and is currently a Member of The Maharashtra State Women’s Council which runs 10 NGO's in Mumbai.

Leah Gray

PhD Student. My project focusses on the impacts of agricultural wetland management and predation pressure on the breeding success of wading birds on the Orkney Islands, with specific focus on the effects of the ongoing stoat invasion and eradication scheme. The islands support internationally important densities of breeding waders, and my project aims to advise the development of effective agricultural wetland management to improve breeding wader outcomes. The project is in collaboration with the RSPB, NatureScot, and The Orkney Native Wildlife Project.
Before starting my PhD, I graduated in Zoology from The University of St Andrews where I researched nest building behaviour in blue tits, specifically demonstrating how temperature changes influenced the timing of nest building behaviours. During my undergraduate degree I discovered a passion for research and went on to complete an MRes degree at St Andrews. This project focussed on group anti-predator behaviour in flocks of Eurasian oystercatchers on Eden Estuary, demonstrating how oystercatchers transfer departure information between group members and how the group processes departure information to co-ordinate decisions.
I am passionate about conserving Scotland’s avian biodiversity and connecting people to nature through bird watching. In my free time I most enjoy being outside with my dog, usually with binoculars in hand. I am also training to be a bird ringer, helping to monitor the survival of important Scottish bird species such as crossbills.

Her work has appeared in some of the nation’s leading law journals. Dean Grinvald’s most recent work focuses on the intersection of the “right to repair” and intellectual property law.

Before joining academia, Dean Grinvald began her career in the private sector after clerking for The Honorable Frank Sullivan, Jr. (ret) of the Indiana State Supreme Court. She served as the global corporate counsel at TaylorMade Golf Company, and as a corporate associate at two international law firms, Latham & Watkins LLP and at Clifford Chance US LLP in their San Diego offices. Dean Grinvald received her JD from New York University Law School and a bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University.

Leanne is an Associate Professor in Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney. She also co-leads the Implementation Science Academy within Sydney Health Partners, an accredited National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Advanced Health Research and Translation Centre. Leanne conducts her research within the Institute for Musculoskeletal Health, leading the research theme of physical activity for people with disabilities. She also holds an Honorary Senior Research Fellowship position in South Western Sydney Local Health District, where she worked clinically for 15 years in adult traumatic brain injury (TBI) rehabilitation.
Leanne’s current research focuses on synthesis of evidence, and testing effectiveness and implementation of physical activity interventions in healthcare and in the community. She has made a significant contribution to the understanding of how to deliver and promote physical activity in people with moderate to severe TBI through the conduct of clinical trials, systematic reviews and the recent development of a national clinical practice guideline.

My research expertise is in animal behaviour and welfare. I enjoy trying to find ways to determine what animals understand about their social world. Many of my projects focus on domestic horse, donkey and mule communication and cognition. I'm also fascinated by the field of comparative thanatology – the study of animals’ responses to death.
As well as studying animal minds, I'm passionate about conducting applied research to improve animal welfare. Taking a One Welfare approach that acknowledges the interconnectedness of animals, humans and the environment, I work with international NGOs to improve the welfare of working equids and the people whose livelihoods depend on them.

Leanne Timpson

Dr. Leanne Timpson is a Lecturer in Microbiology at Nottingham Trent University. She has a PhD in Microbial Biotechnology from University College Dublin, Ireland. During her PhD (2007-2011), Leanne focused on the production of novel enzymes from extremophilic microorganisms for biocatalytic applications. She has also written several book chapters on the function and meaning of film scores in Watership Down (1978), and the films of Jane Campion and Julie Taymor. I am Professor of Aquatic Science. Within the River Basin Processes and Management research group, I lead research on river ecosystems and aquatic ecology. Through my research I aim to increase understanding of how aquatic ecosystem biodiversity and functional processes respond to environmental change.
I am a freshwater ecologist with a particular interest in river ecosystems. My work crosses several research fields (population and community ecology, hydrology and geomorphology). I am particularly interested in river ecosystems in cold regions (alpine, arctic), the effects of catchment management (e.g. artificial drainage, vegetation burning, environmental-flows) on rivers, and aquatic food webs. Administratively, I have previously held the roles of Director of Research and led the school’s submission to REF2021.

Lee Cronin
Regius Chair of Chemistry, University of Glasgow
Research in the Cronin Group is focussed on the potential of complex chemical systems derived from non-biological building blocks to have a major impact on our fundamental understanding of the interplay of chemical systems and to revolutionise modern technologies. To this end the Cronin group works within three major research "themes" of Synthesis and Self Assembly, Molecular Devices and Complex Chemical Systems. The Cronin Group believes in a synergistic approach to research with research themes and projects reinforcing each other to enable fundamental advances to be made.
This research feeds into a number of major applications being investigated in the Cronin group with the intention of realising the real-world benefits of the fundamental science being conducted. These applications range from developing materials for solar fuel devices to producing potential drug and drug delivery candidates.
This Research would not be possible without the wide range of state of the art research equipment routinely used by the Cronin Group. Having recently moved into a purpose built facility within the School of Chemistry at Glasgow university the Cronin Group is at the forefront of developing cutting edge synthetic and analytical techniques for the study of complex inorganic Chemical systems. These advances include the use of low temperature (cryospray) ESI MS techniques to observe chemical transformations and highly reactive intermediate reaction structures and using purpose built flow reactors to study the self-assembly of polyoxometalate systems.

Lee Kellingray

I obtained a first class degree in Microbiology at the University of East Anglia in 2011, and joined the Quadram Institute Science in the same year to do a PhD looking at the effects of Brassica vegetables on the human gut microbiota. Following my PhD I joined the Translational Microbiome group as a research scientist to work with Professor Arjan Narbad to examine how pathogenic bacteria interact with the human gut microbiota, and investigate the potential of next generation sequencing as a clinical diagnostic tool.
I am currently involved in a successful collaboration with the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital providing bacteriotherapy to patients with recurrent Clostridium difficile infection. In addition to this I am using in vitro colon models and 1H NMR to examine the effects of gut pathogens, such as Salmonella typhimurium, on the gut microbiota through metagenomic and metabolomic analyses.
My current interests are focused on the role of the gut microbiota in health, specifically host-microbe and microbe-microbe interactions, and how this research can be translated to improved health outcomes for the general public.

Lee Robinson
American Politics Program Director, United States Military Academy West Point
Lieutenant Colonel Lee Robinson is the Director of the American Politics Program and an Academy Professor within the Department of Social Sciences at West Point. Lee teaches the introductory course to American politics and the capstone course on public policy. He is a 2000 graduate of the United States Military Academy and holds an MPA from Cornell University and a PhD in Public Administration and Policy from the University of Georgia. Prior to service as an Academy Professor, Lee served for over 20 years as an Army Aviation Officer including two deployments to Iraq and one to Afghanistan. Lee commanded the 603D Aviation Support Battalion in the 3rd Infantry Division from 2019-2021 and served as a strategist for the Army Talent Management Task Force from 2021-2022. His research focuses on strategic human resource management, public management and organizational performance, and civil-military relations.

Lee Smales is a senior lecturer in Curtin University's School of Economics & Finance. Before joining Curtin, Lee was an associate lecturer with University of New South Wales where he also completed his PhD in finance.
Prior to embarking on his academic career, Lee spent 8 years working for a major U.S. investment bank trading foreign-exchange and interest rate derivatives. Lee’s research interests are closely aligned with this prior career and focus on financial markets, and in particular the market response to news-events and the impact of prevailing sentiment and microstructure on this reaction.
Lee has published in leading journals including the Journal of Banking & Finance, Journal of Financial Research, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, Accounting & Finance, The Economic Record, and the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money.

Lee White is an Organisational Psychologist with over 25 years of experience as a consultant. His focus is on the creative application of psychological research and techniques to help individuals, teams and organisations. He consults, coaches and teaches with clients from different industry sectors around the world. Lee is a Health Professions Council Registered Occupational Psychologist in the UK, a Chartered Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.
In addition to his consultancy work, he is a Honorary Research Fellow at City, University of London and visiting faculty at INSEAD business school.
