BOSTON, May 08, 2018 -- dataxu®, a leading provider of programmatic marketing software for marketing and media professionals, is pleased to announce the appointment of technology industry veteran Benjamin Katz as SVP of Engineering and CIO. Katz brings more than two decades of experience helping companies scale engineering and technology leadership, and is positioned to support the rapid growth of dataxu’s engineering team, which already numbers more than 100 engineers. His expertise will ensure that dataxu’s platforms continue to deliver industry-leading reliability, global scale and increasingly advanced AI that solve a growing market need for superior consumer data privacy and security capabilities.
“At dataxu, we are committed to building high-quality B2B software that is as easy to use as consumer-facing software and delivers immediate value to its users and their businesses,” said Dr. Bill Simmons, CTO, EVP of Product Development and co-founder of dataxu. “To that end, adding Ben to our leadership team is a coup for dataxu. His extensive experience with consumer-facing products and his demonstrated commitment to incorporating customer feedback into subsequent product iterations will be incredibly valuable as our organization continues to scale in terms of onboarding new customers, engineers and cutting-edge products built around Advanced TV.”
Based in dataxu’s Boston office, Katz will report directly to Simmons, and will own dataxu’s product line moving forward, institutionalizing an ethos of providing a best-in-class customer experience along with the technical innovation that has become a dataxu hallmark. He will also be responsible for ensuring platform security and advanced data privacy functionality in support of GDPR compliance.
“I’m excited to be joining a cutting edge and innovative team that is committed to helping media companies, agencies and advertisers master digital transformation and develop a unique value proposition with first-to-market solutions such as TotalTV,” said Katz. “I look forward to leading dataxu’s engineering efforts and further enhancing and growing the team so that we can continue to shake up what’s possible with advanced analytics and AI and delight our customers.”
Prior to joining dataxu, Katz was the Chief Technology Officer at Cinch Financial and Gazelle and has also held leadership roles at Rue La La, Allurent, Professional Access and ATG, among others.
