While there is a case to be made with regards to the purchase of the iPad Mini 4, the product’s undeniable price issue has turned many customers away. The device is smaller, thus making it more portable, but it is also more expensive than other comparable gadgets in the lineup. This is why the next generation of iPad Mini devices are expected to get a price cut.
As 9to5Mac reports, price cuts for the next versions of the iPad Mini is only to be expected since it is smaller than the regular iPad products. The miniature tablet certainly has its portability going for it but that’s about the only advantage it has. For everything else, customers would get more value out of the regular version that offers a much bigger screen.
The publication recently released a prediction report with regards to the iPad Mini 5, noting how it won’t likely be offering anything substantially different other than the price. Basically, it will look almost exactly the same as the current iPad Mini generation. This should cause customers to have conflicting feelings, with many being fine with retaining the current design while others want something new.
“Retaining mostly the same external design, it will purportedly keep the Lightning connector, Touch ID and the 3.5mm headphone jack. It will feature the same bezels and overall dimensions will not substantially change,” the report by 9to5Mac reads.
For those hoping that Apple would be adding FaceID to the next iPad Mini generation or perhaps even the coveted support for the Apple Pencil, disappointment awaits. It does not appear that the next generation of the product will offer anything of the sort. As such, the only real thing that will likely cause some excitement among customers is the possibility of getting an iPad Mini for much cheaper than it costs now.
