It appears that Amir Khan is pushing for a big money fight in the future against either Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Manny Pacquiao.
In a recent interview with Fight Hub, Khan admitted that he would like to take on either one of them next year, but he added that he wouldn’t feel bad if he didn’t get the fight he wanted.
“If it’s not meant to be with one of them it’s not meant to be. I’m not going to force either of them to fight me. If it’s meant to happen it’s meant to happen. I’d love to fight them. I think they are great champions. Mayweather is a great champion. Manny Pacquiao is a great champion,” Khan said during the interview, via BoxingNewsAndViews.com.
“Before I was very mad (that I could not get the Pacquiao or Mayweather fight) but as I get older I don’t cry over spilled milk.”
Interestingly, Khan called out Floyd Mayweather recently when he heard the undefeated boxer was targeting Adrien Broner. He even claimed that Mayweather has been ducking him for years now because of his fighting style. In any case, Khan will likely face Kell Brook next year unless something goes wrong during negotiations.
Meanwhile, reports have indicated that Manny Pacquiao is scheduled to face Broner on Jan. 12, 2019 before he takes on Floyd Mayweather in May 2019. This can be considered a tune-up fight to some, but Pacquiao shouldn’t take Broner lightly because the American boxer is still at the top of his game despite failing to come up with a win in his last two bouts.
Promoter Eddie Hearn also spilled the beans on the Manny Pacquiao versus Floyd Mayweather rematch date recently when he told the Mirror that the two would meet in the spring.
As of the moment, none of this has been confirmed.
