Bernie Sanders encouraged to bow out of presidential elections after Joe Biden sweeps Arizona, Florida, Illinois

Bernie Sanders is being encouraged to bow out of the presidential elections after his opponent, Joe Biden won on Tuesday’s primaries with sweeps in Arizona, Florida, and Illinois.

During his live stream on Tuesday, Sanders opted to focus on the coronavirus pandemic instead of talking about the results of the election.

“In this moment of crisis, it is imperative that we stand together. [The nation needs to brace for] an economic meltdown that will impact tens of millions of workers in this country,” he said.

According to CNN, the coronavirus outbreak has largely pushed pause on the presidential primary. And it also became evident that Sanders is eager to push pause. But his supporters are arguing that he needs to stay in the race to be able to push Biden to the left.

However, more Democrats are worried that a repeat of 2016’s lengthy primary could take place so it’s better is Sanders would announce that he is bowing out from the elections.

Chris Meagher, a former top adviser to Pete Buttigieg, who backed Biden earlier this month is encouraging Sanders to take a long and hard look at how and why he would stay in the race.

“And give how long he waited to drop out of the race in 2016, that pressure to drop out of the race when the writing is clearly on the wall is even greater,” he said.

David Axelrod, Barack Obama’s former top adviser, claimed that Democratic elections just ended tonight and it is in favor of Biden. However, Sanders has not officially bowed out of the race.

But if he decides to do so, Biden is more than willing to work with him so that they could take down Donald Trump and ensure that a Democrat will sit at the Oval Office for the next few years.
