Blake Shelton recently said that he’s alright with NBC not bringing back Gwen Stefani back as a coach for the next season of “The Voice.” The couple of three years forged their romance on the set of the singing competition after both left their respective partners at the time.
Now, between the two f them, only Blake Shelton remains seated in one of the coaches' chairs. An insider who spoke with Hollywood Life recently revealed how the “I Lived It” singer felt about Gwen Stefani not being included in the ensemble.
“With the success of the show with Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson, and the upcoming coach John Legend coming into the fold, Blake [Shelton] feels that if the show is super successful with the newer coaches, then he is totally fine with not seeing Gwen [Stefani] come back,” the insider claims.
But even if NBC did want Gwen Stefani to return to the show, the songstress’s schedule would prevent such a thing from happening. The former vocalist of No Doubt currently has her calendar full as she has an extensive Las Vegas residency that will last until March of next year. While this may put some strain on her relationship with Blake Shelton, the couple is doing a great job of keeping their romance burning despite being apart.
Gwen Stefani recently posted a video on Instagram where Blake Shelton is serenading her with his song “Turnin’ Me On.” What makes this doubly romantic is the song was inspired by the country singer’s affection for his girlfriend.
The couple has been solidly dating for three years despite being plagued by rumors coming from gossip publications. Fabricated stories such as weddings, fights, and pregnancy claims have buffeted Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani in the past. But even though this is the case, the duo doesn’t let them get under their skin.
