‘Blue Bloods’ Season 9 Episode 4 Spoilers: Frank Makes Unsettling Discovery in ‘Blackout’

Looks like Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) and the rest of the police force will be dealing with a major power outage when “Blue Bloods” Season 9 Episode 4 airs on Friday, Oct. 19, at 10:00 p.m. ET. Titled “Blackout,” the aptly named episode will feature the cops attempt to contain the ensuing chaos caused by the outage.

The official synopsis of “Blue Bloods” Season 9 Episode 4 also reveals Frank is going to discover some unpleasant information about his department in the aftermath of the blackout. Incidentally, his division is filled with members of his own family so it’s not going to be easy for the commissioner.

Eddie (Vanessa Ray) and Jamie (Will Estes) will also work to find a way to balance their work life and their personal relationship in “Blue Bloods” Season 9 Episode 4, but they will continue to struggle. Jamie's brother, Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) is dealing with problems of his own as well as he partners with Baez (Marisa Ramirez) in a race to secure a murder suspect before she is tipped off by her ex-boyfriend.

“Blue Bloods” Season 9 Episode 4 should be another action-packed thriller especially on Danny and Baez’s side of things, but some viewers think the show may have a hard time emulating the same level of excitement created by the premiere episode of Season 9 when drug cartel leader Louis Delgado (Lou Diamond Phillips) admitted to torching Danny’s house and hinted that he might be involved in Linda’s (Amy Carlson) death.

“When it comes to some of the other stories, we’re really hoping that we get something especially meaty for Danny here given that the bar was set so high earlier this season with Lou Diamond Phillips that the series has to find a way to match that. It’s hard with these case-of-the-week plots, but maybe he and Baez could work on something that is tied very closely to something in her life,” the team at CarterMatt noted.
