Burger King India released a new ad and Whopper as part of its campaign to be sober up this new year. As many Millenials and GenZ's are expected to party to celebrate the arrival of the new year, they could end up with hangovers thus the fast-food chain launched the Sober Whopper burger
The new Burger King commercial in India aims to promote becoming sober as the new year begins, an occasion that is often associated with hangovers after a night of partying with friends or families. Thus, for this year, the burger joint will add the Sober Whopper burger to the menu so people can quickly recover from the headache after the fun-filled celebration.
As per Business Insider India, Burger King's Sober Whopper features a juicy and cheesy flame-grilled double-patty sandwich. It was developed so customers can enjoy a delicious burger on Jan. 1 to help get rid of their hangovers. It has the right amount of carbs needed to sober up, and being tasty is such a big bonus.
The new Whopper burger option will be in Burger King restaurants in India for a limited time only, from Dec. 28 to Jan. 5. The company also started the #SoberWhopper campaign on social media, and participants can win a free Sober Whopper if picked.
All that fans have to do is post some after-party pictures and tag Burger King India on Twitter for a chance to win. The contest has already been activated so people can easily upload their photos after the new year parties. Indian Television reported that the unique campaign for BK India was conceptualized by FoxyMoron.
"Burger King as a brand has a unique way of connecting with its TG of GenZ and millennials," Pratik Gupta, Zoo Media & FoxyMoron's co-founder said regarding the new campaign. "While most brands focus on bringing in the new year, Burger King in its signature humor and topical lens, decided to focus on the unique touchpoint of the customer's sentiment the morning after, when all the fun and frolic is over, and all you want is great food."
Kapil Grover, the company's chief marketing officer at Burger King India, further said, "Our strategy is to constantly hack contemporary moments and culture. The #SoberWhopper was designed to ensure that no matter how hard our guests party, they can start their new year on a Whopper note."
