Cheaters often take the fun out of online games as they gain huge advantages over those gamers who play fairly. “Call of Duty Mobile” developers Activision and Tencent knows how cheating ruins the gaming experience for everyone else and is now “striking hard against any cheater.”
The “Call of Duty Mobile” development team noted that it received several cheating reports lately, according to Gamespot. This forced them to enforce policies to minimize cheating, which could include banning cheaters permanently.
“Just to reiterate this information from last week, but we are still striking hard against any cheaters in the game and always on the look-out for reports from the community or through social media,” the COD Mobile team wrote on the game’s official Reddit community page.
“We don't want cheaters in our game, and we don't want them ruining your experience, manipulating our systems, and destroying the balance of the game,” the team added. “If we see cheating we will enforce on it with our [Call of Duty Mobile] Security & Enforcement Policy in mind.”
The “Call of Duty Mobile” security and enforcement policy features a tiered offense system, where the severity of the offense is rated based on how it affects an individual gamer or the community as a whole. Punishment would depend on the severity of the offense.
For instance, players caught using “third-party software to mod or hack their game” for the first time will already result to their temporary suspension. Players will be permanently suspended and removed from the leaderboards if they are caught again.
The “Call of Duty Mobile” team also offered a few tips on how to report suspected cheaters. Players reporting via social media must grab a suspected cheater’s UID and not the username as it can be changed.
To do it, players need to go to their profile and click on the last tap, which is Player History. After locating the match, click on the arrow located on the right-hand side to access the player list.
Look for the suspected cheater’s name. But sure to copy it correctly since they are case sensitive.
After getting the name, the reporting player should to the Friends tab, then choose Add Friends to search for the player using the name.
Check on the profile to verify then copay the UID manually or with a quick copy tool. Upon sending the UID, it would also be best if there are screenshots or clips to back up the report.
