Although the last chapter of the manga series represented only 20 seconds of time lapse, “Dr. Stone” Chapter 76 might render this victory futile. The previous chapter did not feature an appearance by Tsukasa after all. The next installment in this arc could involve an attack on the nearby village, which would then make controlling of the Cave of Miracles untenable.
As Otaku Art notes, it almost feels like the previous chapter of the series ended in the blink of an eye. Then again, it was only supposed to last 20 seconds in the perspective of the characters. Any longer than that and there would have been casualties. By the time “Dr. Stone” Chapter 76 rolls around, the group is basking in glory over their victory.
However, as the publication also notes, there are a few issues that still need to be addressed. The ball is now officially in Tsukasa’s court and all readers have to do now is wait for the next move. One of the tactics on the table is attacking the village and holding its inhabitants as hostages. This is a scenario that has a fair chance of happening in “Dr. Stone” Chapter 76.
The counterattack that Tsukasa could unleash might even render the victory by Senku and his company short-lived, The Anime Scrolls notes. After all, holding the Cave of Miracles would be quite difficult with the nearest settlement being occupied by the enemy. Less scrupulous tactics might be the only options left if this happens, which means that “Dr. Stone” Chapter 76 could see blood flow.
Then again, this is all just speculation and the events in the next chapter could be substantially different from the scenario presented here. Readers will just have to see what happens when “Dr. Stone” Chapter 76 is released on Oct. 1.
