The wait for “Jack Ryan” season 2 is now down to hours before all its episodes start streaming. Avid fans of the political thriller can now look up what each episode has to offer and get an idea at how Jack’s (John Krasinski) new dilemma will unfold.
'Jack Ryan' season 2 spoilers: Political conflicts bring Jack and Greer together for another mission
Like in the first installment, “Jack Ryan” season 2 will have a total of eight episodes that will narrate Jack’s new and more complex mission situated in South America. Special circumstances related to the new conflict will bring James Greer (Wendell Pierce) back to working with Jack.
An eight-episode run is not that long, so the foundations of Jack and Greer’s new mission in foreign soil will be immediately introduced in “Jack Ryan” season 2 episode 1. The opening is titled “Cargo” as the titular protagonist has his eyes on a ship he suspects is carrying illegally procured weapons from Russia to Venezuela. Greer turns out to be investigating the same cargo ship that he discovered was transporting a covert satellite.
The trail of evidence puts Jack and Greer in the middle of a messy presidential campaign in Venezuela. “Jack Ryan” season 2, episode 3’s synopsis, indicates that Jack’s team will face danger as Jack’s intel brings them to a sketchy compound heavily guarded by militiamen.
The teasers for the “Jack Ryan” season 2 episodes show that there will be a parallel between Jack’s investigation while Greer focuses on drawing connections between acts of violence and the incumbent Venezuelan president named Nicolas Reyes (Jordi Molla).
'Jack Ryan' season 2 release date, plot: Where to watch
Real danger sets in on episode 6 when the current Venezuelan government declares the US Embassy and CIA operatives persona non grata. This development in “Jack Ryan” season 2 appears like a declaration of war, leaving American authorities operating in Venezuela in danger, especially Greer, who will be detained following a raid on a CIA safe house.
All eight episodes will be dropped at once on Friday, Nov. 1. “Jack Ryan” season 2 can only be watched through Amazon Prime Video.
