Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson’s celebrity status has been propelled to global stardom as the two made waves in the film industry following the conclusion of the erotic drama “Fifty Shades Freed.” But now that the trilogy has been wrapped up, what’s in store for the two?
Dakota Johnson’s new film, “Suspiria,” recently finished production and is set to be released in the fall of 2018, although the exact date has yet to be revealed. The movie is a reboot of the 1977 horror-mystery film where a young aspiring dancer, played by Johnson, attends a highly acclaimed academy only to uncover the secrets within its premises.
Dakota’s co-stars include academy award winner Tilda Swinton and Chloe Grace Moretz, with the film directed by Luca Guadagnino. While the three actresses will indeed pull audiences in once the movie hits the cinemas, critics’ eyes are focused on Guadagnino, as the director’s film “Call Me By Your Name” received massive recognition. Dakota said that filming “Suspiria” messed with her head quite a bit as she needed therapy after the film wrapped up production, Express reported.
As for Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, it seems that the duo will not be starring in the same movies anytime soon. Dornan and Johnson haven’t even appeared in the same interviews together after “Fifty Shades Freed” concluded the erotic trilogy.
Dornan, meanwhile, received a big dividend following his stint with co-star Johnson. According to the new accounts filed by Dornan's Where's the Danger Ltd., the Irish actor apparently received an accumulated £900,000 ($1.1 million) in 2016.
When asked about the possibility of starring in yet another film adaptation of the “Fifty Shades” series, Dornan openly said he’s “fed up” with the franchise and wants to work on other projects. While these titles are the Irish actor’s biggest success in the film industry, he has made a name for himself on the television side of things, appearing in “The Fall” and “Once Upon a Time.”
Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are set to forge their own paths in the movie industry, with their appearance in the “Fifty Shades” series giving a boost to their own names. Right now, Johnson’s “Suspiria” is set to showcase her acting chops, while Dornan is banking on Robin Hood to put him in the box office spotlight yet again.
