The Jenna Dewan, Channing Tatum split that the two announced back in April is one of the rare cases in Hollywood or anywhere in which a couple separated in an amicable fashion. Recently, divorce papers were finally filed and this friendly atmosphere has been continued, which can only be good for the daughter they share.
The Jenna Dewan, Channing Tatum split back in April was announced via Instagram. It was almost astonishingly sweet in how it broke the news to fans of the couple. Compared to the recent divorce cases that are going on in Hollywood, the revelation was practically tantric.
"We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love each other, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision—just two best friends realizing it's time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible," the post reads.
The Jenna Dewan, Channing Tatum pair also made sure to mention that they continue to be supportive and loving parents to their daughter, Everly Elizabeth Maiselle Tatum. This is an excellent point to be made since too many Hollywood couples end up divorcing and then turning their children against each other.
In the court documents that were obtained by The Blast, the conditions coming from both Jenna Dewan, Channing Tatum parties are quite reasonable, as well. The actress basically wants to change her last name back to Dewan and to have joint custody for her daughter. The “21 Jump Street” actor is also asking for the same thing, minus changing his name to Dewan, obviously.
