Johnny Depp sued a British tabloid for calling him a wife-beater based on the claims of Amber Heard. The case was heard in July and the verdict was released in November but it was not the result that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor was hoping for.
He lost the case as the court says that the publication’s claim is true. With this verdict, Johnny Depp also lost his Gellert Grindelwald role in J.K. Rowling’s “Fantastic Beast” movie series. Warner Bros. removed him from the cast lineup and while he respects this decision, he filed for an appeal to overturn the decision on his libel case.
Johnny’s Hollywood career in tatters?
Now, Life & Style released an article titled “Hollywood Turns Against Johnny” and claimed that Johnny Depp’s career is now in tatters after losing in the legal battle. The paper suggested that after the court showdown that showed photos and texts for his alleged violent behavior, Hollywood has turned its back on the multi-awarded actor.
“He’s panicking about being a washed-up celebrity and is afraid no one will hire him to work in big-budgeted movies ever,” the tipster told the magazine. "Execs are scared of the toxicity surrounding Johnny's name, so many of the projects are now up in the air."
The source added that even if Johnny Depp received $10 million from “Fantastic Beasts” even if he was removed, this amount will not get far. Thus, he really needs more work to pay the bills.
The truth
Gossip Cop pointed out that most of the stories published by Life & Style are false. This means that the magazine is unreliable so this story about Johnny Depp being snubbed in Hollywood is more likely false.
While it is true that Johnny Depp lost in the legal battle, the support he got was tremendous as many believed his side of the story. Many big names also showed that they are backing the actor and even his “Fantastic Beast” co-stars are supporting him. It is clear that Hollywood did not turn against the actor because a whole lot in the industry supports him and his career.
