Melania Trump was recently criticized based on how she has been contributing to the handling of the coronavirus virus outbreak in the United States.
To make things worse, the FLOTUS was compared to former first lady Barbara Bush, whose foundation has been doing everything they can to help address the pandemic.
The Barbara Bush Foundation is encouraging parents and caregivers to explore free online resources so that children could continue to build critical literacy skills while their schools are closed. The foundation’s in-house team of literary and education experts also curated a toolkit of high-quality online resources that they can use anytime, anywhere.
CNN correspondent Kate Bennett tweeted about the foundation’s efforts to help children, parents, and caregivers amid the pandemic.
“The Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy @BarbaraBushFdn has developed a helpful toolkit for parents with kids home after coronavirus cancelations. A great example of the scope of FLOTUS legacy engaged, long after a team has expired,” she tweeted.
Netizens were quick to praise the late first lady but they also couldn’t help but compare her from the current FLOTUS.
“What a terrific resource! Thank you for sharing!” Twitter user @BluAngel54 said.
“A dead FLOTUS does more than the current live one. FLOTUS should stand for Free-Loader-of-the-United-States until squinty and the orange menace are gone!” Twitter user @nicolejames wrote.
So far, Donald Trump’s wife has not done anything to help families affected by the coronavirus outbreak. Melania has simply tweeted about social distancing and the importance of following the instructions set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
“With our lives changed dramatically, especially in the last few days, I encourage everyone to follow CDC guidelines. Social distancing at this time is very important! Visit cdc.gov for more information,” the first lady tweeted.
On Tuesday, the FLOTUS also thanked the medical staff for everything that they have been doing to help treat those infected by the coronavirus.
“I want to take a moment to thank the medical staff, doctors, nurses & first responders who are working tirelessly to help keep our country healthy and safe,” she wrote.
