Netflix saved “La Casa de Papel” after it was discontinued in a Spanish television network Antena 3. It was aired from May to November 2017 and was acquired by the American streaming provider shortly.

With its new home, the Spanish drama was renamed “Money Heist” for international release. Since then it has gained lots of viewers and continues to grow. With the amazing response, Netflix renewed the show for a third season and today it is now on its fifth installment.

Final run on Netflix

The phenomenal crime-heist drama is ending in “Money Heist” season 5 and this was already announced via social media when the show was renewed in July. Alex Pina also spoke about the final season and said they have brainstormed for about a year to come up with a great ending.

“We’ve spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band. How to put the Professor on the ropes,” The Hollywood Reporter quoted show creator Alex Pina as saying. “How to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters. The result is the fifth part of La Casa de Papel.”

Pina also hinted that the “Money Heist” season 5 will show extreme action as the war escalates. “The war reaches its most extreme and savage levels, but it is also the most epic and exciting season,” he said.

Spoilers - Devastating ending of “La Casa de Papel” predicted

In the last season, Lisbon (Itziar Ituño) was shown entering the Bank of Spain after Nairobi (Alba Flores) died. Her goal is to help the group in finishing the heist while El Professor was somewhere else.

Express reported that “Money Heist” season 5 will have more deaths of the gang members. Fans predicted that at least Rio (Miguel Herran) and Palermo (Rodrigo de la Serna) are the next ones to die after Nairobi.

For Palermo, they said that because he has been acting recklessly, he will commit errors that would lead to his death. He may also cause trouble for the team before he meets his end.

On the other hand, since Rio has PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), this illness may kill him after being caught by the authorities. What he will have to go through in their hands will affect his disorder and he may pass after some struggles. Meanwhile, “Money Heist” season 5 is set to return in 2021.
