The Money Pit in Oak Island has not been found yet but the modern treasure hunters led by Rick and Marty Lagina are determined to unearth the fabled treasures buried there. Thus the hunt will continue in “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8.

In season 7, it seems that the team is really close to finding what the other treasure hunters have been looking for in the last 200 years. It also appears that they will not only solve the mystery of the Oak Island treasures but they will also unveil many facts in history that have never been revealed before.

The team is back on the island and filming has started

History Channel hasn’t officially renewed “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8 yet but the show is sure to return because the filming crew was spotted on the island already. The works have started and it is getting busier around the territory. This is surely an indication that the eighth installment is on the way.

It was revealed by Karen Publicover through the Oak Island from the Other Side of the Causeway Facebook page that she runs, that she saw people back at work on the island as early as June. She said she also spotted some drones so she filming could have started as well.

One major information that she shared was that as early as June 19, the crew was busy around the 10X but no activities were seen along the swamp or the Smith’s Cove. In the second week of July, Publicover relayed to the followers of her page and fans of “The Curse of Oak Island” that she saw the production filming crew arriving on the isle.

Works around the Money Pit

In the last week of July, the crew finally gathered around the location of the Money Pit. It was said that tents were set up here and more vehicles were arriving. But still, there is no sign of the Lagina brothers or Gary Drayton.

Before the month ended, 20 trucks were spotted bringing in gravel. There were minor diggings and it is not certain if this is the holes that the team talked about in the finale of season 7 - for the “Big Dig.”

New updates in August

In the latest update, photos of massive crane were posted and someone commented that those are terrain telescopic boom cranes. Those are said to be great units and long trucks were also taking big logs out of the island.

Lastly, the swamp digger was also seen and another resident of Oak Island said he saw people filming on Aug. 24. There was also sonic drilling in the Money Pit and digging on the edge of the swamp and surely, these scenes will be part of The Curse of Oak Island” season 8.

Release date

The production is underway but the premiere of “The Curse of Oak Island” season 8 is not yet known. It is possible to be released in the latter part of 2021 since they are working on the island now.
