It looks like the unofficial excursion into cartel territory is coming back for the team in “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10 episode 4. Unfortunately for them, the NCIS itself is processing an inquest into the events of Director Mosley's (Nia Long) son's rescue.
According to the “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10 episode 4 synopsis, the pictures and names of the NCIS team – including Shay Mosley and her son's details – have appeared on the cartel's hit list. This makes them prime targets for the cartel's enforcers as well as any enterprising street thug hoping to get into the cartel's good graces.
In addition to worrying about getting gunned down in the street by cartel hit men, NCIS deputy director Louis Ochoa (Esai Morales) will be paying Director Mosley a visit with special prosecutor John Rogers (Peter Jacobson). With both the cartel and NCIS itself breathing down their necks in “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 5 episode 4, it feels like Callen (Chris O'Donnell), Hanna (LL Cool J), Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen), and Kensi (Daniela Ruah) have nowhere to run to if things go bad.
Fans may remember that aside from the cartel hit list, the inquest from NCIS in “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 5 episode 4 will be particularly brutal due to the unofficial operation resulting in the confirmed death of agent Harley Hidoko (Andrea Bordeaux). There is a possibility that Mosley and the rest of Callen's team could be blamed and punished for agent Hidoko's death. If this results in the team's forced resignations or terminations from their position, this would leave them more open to retaliation from the cartel.
Fans looking forward to seeing how this new threat to the NCIS Los Angeles team will affect the cast's lives can catch “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10 episode 4 when it airs during its weekly Sunday schedule on Oct. 21.
