“Power Book II: Ghost” will follow as the sixth season of “Power” has ended two months ago. Ghost is dead and his killer was his own son Tariq, however, it was his former partner Tasha (Naturi Naughton) who took the fall to save her son.
“Power Book II: Ghost” will begin from the timeline - just days after James St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) was shot. By this time, Tariq has gone back to college because it is the only way he could get his massive inheritance from his father. His mother is still in jail but it was suggested that she will escape.
Tasha’s escape and Tariq’s fate
It was predicted that Tariq Michael Rainey Jr) will team up with the new character Monet’s (Mary J. Blige) daughter, Diana, so he can plan his mom’s breakout. She is willing to help out Tariq but their relationship is unclear. Also, Monet was projected to be a strong character and will she allow her daughter to be entangled with a criminal?
Then again, Tariq’s time may be running out as “Power Book II: Ghost” may show his end which means he will die in this spinoff. Based on the theory, he will not be able to inherit his father’s fortune because his time is up.
LaKeisha’s comeback
One interesting detail that will happen in “Power Book II: Ghost” involves the return of LaKeisha (La La Anthony) who already died in season 6. This possible turn of events came directly from the drama’s showrunner Courteney Kemp.
Just last month, in one of her interviews, she revealed that she has plans to work with La La again. She was asked if the actress will have another show with her and she replied with sort of a “yes.”
"Hopefully. I want to write something for her,” Express quoted Kemp as saying. “I think La La is incredibly talented."
It makes sense if LaKeisha will return because Kemp also mentioned previously that “Power Book II: Ghost” will feature strong women characters. “I have really strong female characters in a way that I am trying to push even further than what we had in the original ‘Power,’” she told TV Line in another interview.
“Power Book II: Ghost” premiere will be delayed as filming has been halted after one of the crews tested positive for COVID-19 infection.
