Samsung has one more flagship product to announce before Galaxy S11 becomes the talk of the town. However, various rumors and supposed leaked information are already helping it make headlines. Tech fans are likely wondering now whether they should wait for it to be released before they upgrade their device.
One of the most interesting rumored specs of the Samsung Galaxy S11 is that it will have a hefty camera feature. The South Korean electronics company recently announced they had developed 64-megapixel (GW1) and 48-megapixel (GM2) smartphone sensors. “With more pixels and advanced pixel technologies, Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 and GM2 will bring a new level of photography to today’s sleekest mobile devices that will enhance and help change the way we record our daily lives,” Samsung Electronics executive Yongin Park said.
With a camera technology as advanced as this one, it begs the question of whether Samsung’s own Galaxy S11 would benefit from this development. Well-known leaker Ice Universe recently reported, “Galaxy Note10 is Samsung's last 1/2.55-inch 1.4um CMOS flagship phone. Samsung has been using it for 4 years. Starting next year, Samsung S11 will adopt a new large-size large-pixel CMOS.”
However, tech fans should also take note that Samsung Electronics is a known supplier of components to other smartphone makers. So there is a chance that they would see this 64MP camera on other brands first before in Galaxy S11.
On the other hand, that is not the only development rumored for Samsung Galaxy S11. The upcoming device is speculated to not sport any physical buttons such as the volume control and the power button. Tech fans might have already heard other reports that Google is planning to do the same. If this would check out in the future, Samsung Galaxy S11 might only feature touch capacitive buttons.
Samsung has a consistent smartphone cycle in the past year. Without major changes in sight for the near future, the Galaxy S11 is likely going to be unveiled within the first quarter of 2020.
