Expect bigger, badder monsters in Season 2 of “Stranger Things,” according the show’s executive producer Shawn Levy.
In an interview on a GoldDerby podcast, Levy dished some insights for the “Stranger Things”’s second season. He stressed that as the show will put Will Byer at the center of things, the evil that would plague the main characters paled in comparison to Season 1 monster, the Demogorgon.
He said, “Will Byers is very much at the center of several intersecting challenges, threats in season two and I think overall the forces of evil that are inherent in season two make that Demogorgon look quaint in retrospect.”
The threats and challenges will be coming to an expanded cast, which includes newcomers Sean Astin as Bob Newby, Paul Reiser as Owens, Linnea Berthelsen as Roman, Brett Gelman as Murray Bauman, Will Chase as Neil Mayfield, Sadie Sink as Max, and Dacre Montgomery as Billy, Moviefone reported.
Levy also chimed in his thoughts about the show’s cast for Season 2, Heroic Hollywood said. He said, “I think you’ll see more and more certainly in the movies that we are producing at 21 Laps and even in season two of “Stranger Things” — an increased diversity, not because anyone is telling us it needs to happen but because that is the world we live in, that is the mindset we try and kind of relate to others and the world around us with, so more and more I think you’re going to see that reflected in the content.”
“Stranger Things” Season 2 will return to Netflix this Halloween.
