It would appear that in “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 4 Episode 1, the animators cut a lot of scenes from the manga in adapting the material. However, this was to be expected since the story had to be compressed to fit a few short episodes. On that note, “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 4 Episode 1 is not even supposed to be out yet and was simply leaked.
As Vostory notes, “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 4 Episode 1 was leaked ahead of schedule. The season premiere of the anime was officially scheduled for Oct. 9, but it’s now in the wild. Fans can watch it via popular websites with unofficial releases of the episode, but it seems many of them are regretting doing so.
The quality of the animation for this property has always been an issue for a lot of fans, but now, “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 4 Episode 1 has shown that pacing has been affected as well. Basically, it’s going a lot faster and the studios seem to be cutting out a lot of important scenes from the manga. In fact, many have commented that “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 4 Episode 1 alone covered about six chapters.
There have been some reports about the upcoming season of the anime having 24 episodes instead of the usual 12, OtakuKart reports. However, there are still conflicting reports with regards to this particular topic. In any case, a hurried narrative pacing is not exclusive to “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 4 Episode 1 since the same thing happened with the previous seasons.
Many fans have complained about this trend simply because of how the source material is being treated. With the manga series having such a huge following, one would think that the anime’s producers would have more consideration. Judging by the quality of “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 4 Episode 1, this does not seem to be the case.
