Tom Cruise on a Mission to Sign Up Barbra Streisand to Scientology? Claim Debunked

Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise and Scientology are almost inseparable words since the “Top Gun” actor has long been very dedicated to the controversial church. In fact, he is one of the important people in the religion today and it is widely believed that he has a big influence on the church.

Now, the actor is back in the headlines and sure enough, it is about Scientology rather than about his career. In the new report, it is alleged that the 56-year-old Hollywood A-lister actor is back to recruiting new members for the said religious body that was founded by American science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard in 1952.

This time, it is said that Tom Cruise is trying to get the legendary singer Barbra Streisand to join Scientology. According to the narrative that appears in the Globe (via Gossip Cop), the tabloid notes that the singer is the actor’s favorite and he is “obsessed with her for years.”

“Tom is captivated by her class and style. He thinks the world of her,” an insider supposedly told the paper. “He cranks up the volume when he plays her albums and says she has the voice of an angel.”

It is also claimed that Tom Cruise really wants to appear in a movie alongside Streisand and said that “she would be the best thing for Scientology ever.”

In the past, many media outlets reported on the actor’s efforts in recruiting new members for Scientology. In fact, in 2009, The Daily Mail reported that he was on a mission to find new recruits for the church in Australia.

Reportedly, the actor was given the mission in hopes that he will help change how the people see the religion as well as dismiss the common belief that Scientology is a cult.

In any case, Gossip Cop claimed that Tom Cruise is not trying to recruit Barbra Streisand. Plus, the story that he also wants to work with the singer/actress is false because the source is unreliable. It pointed out that the paper has been reporting made-up stories about the actor for a long time now so it cannot be trusted.
