‘Wayward Pines’ Season 2 Episode 1 Spoilers: “Enemy Lines” brings a New Stranger in Town

Jason Patric joins season 2 of 'Wayward Pines'

‘Wayward Pines’ is set to debut the first episode for season two entitled “Enemy Lines”. It will introduce a new character to be played by actor Jason Patric of ‘Narc’ and ‘The Alamo’ fame.

According to MovieWeb, season 2 will kick off with a brand new resident of Wayward Pines, Idaho. Dr. Theo Yedlin is a surgeon who finds himself in the middle of a rebellion where the town residents fight over the preservation of the human race.

Season 2 will pick up where the preceding season left off and will presumably be more disturbing. Other original cast members from season 1 will be returning as well.

Hope Davis will reprise her role as Megan Fisher, principal of Wayward Pines Academy engaged in top secret research in the Abbies, while Tom Stevens returns as Jason Higgins, a First Generation leader. Oscar-nominee Djimon Hounsou joins the season 2 cast as CJ Mitchum, a historian and original resident of Wayward Pines who serves as a link between the old and current world.

According to Movie News Guide, the mystery-science fiction series is based on the novels of the same name by author Blake Crouch. M. Night Shyamalan, who directed the pilot episode, serves as executive producer together with series creator Chad Hodge. It premiered on Fox on May 2015 and has been renewed for a second season, which is set to premiere on May 25, 2016.

Season 1 starred Matt Dillon as Ethan Burke, a U.S. Secret Service Agent who awakens from a car accident to find himself cut off from the outside world after investigating the mysterious disappearance of two fellow agents.

After finding one of the missing agents safely settled in the quiet little town of Wayward Pines, he soon realizes that the town isn’t what it seems to be. Its inhabitants are unable to leave because of an enforced set of rules that threatens punishment by public execution in the event of any escape.
