The two appointments come in the footsteps of YouCaring’s recent acquisition of Generosity.com and follow a year of explosive growth for the seven-year old company, which pioneered the free fundraising platform model. YouCaring has raised over $1 billion to date for medical and charitable causes, bolstered by the efforts of high-profile athletes and influencers like JJ Watt and Ricky Martin.
Will Wagner joins YouCaring to help the company grow its engineering operations and scale for rapid growth in 2018. As Senior VP of Engineering at SurveyMonkey, he grew the engineering team from 15 to over 150 engineers across multiple geographies during its hyper growth phase.
“I’m thrilled to join YouCaring to help fulfill its strategy to apply technology to compassionate crowdfunding,” said Wagner. “The tech industry has a duty to make people’s lives better, and that’s precisely what attracted me to YouCaring. Part of YouCaring's unique strength is its investment in its data platform and technology and those in need will directly benefit from our innovation.”
Rob Chesnut brings to YouCaring’s Advisory Board a wealth of experience in trust and safety, starting with his 10 year tenure at eBay, where he founded the company’s Trust and Safety Department under Meg Whitman. Currently, Chesnut serves as General Counsel at Airbnb, where he is responsible for driving the legal strategy of the company and, before joining Airbnb, he served as General Counsel at Chegg.
On YouCaring’s Advisory Board, he joins a list of industry luminaries, such as Kevin McSpadden, founder of ThinkBrandNew and former director Facebook brand and marketing director; Cory Gaines, SVP and head of product, Network Solutions at Change Healthcare; Kip Knight, SVP and president at H&R Block; Arra Yerganian, chief marketing and brand officer at Sutter Health; Chris Turitzin, former NewsFeed & Growth product manager at Facebook; Elena Verna, SVP of growth at Malwarebytes; and Yael Garten, Director, Siri Data Science and Analytics, Apple.
