Kishan Dholakia is Professor at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. He has over 325 refereed papers including over twenty in Nature and Science titled journals. His papers have accrued in excess of 30,000 citations (Google Scholar). His work in manipulation is cited in the Guinness Book of World Records. He is recipient of the R.W. Wood Prize of the Optical Society (2016), the Institute of Physics Thomas Young Medal and Prize (2017) and the SPIE Dennis Gabor Award (2018).
He runs a vibrant, international group of around twenty researchers exploring advanced optical beam shaping for biomedicine and analysis, precision measurement and optical manipulation.
