There is no denying that Netflix’s teen drama “13 Reasons Why” has racked up a growing fanbase, as well as some naysayers who didn’t like how the show explored sensitive topics adapted from the Jay Asher Young Adult book. But many believed that a Season 2 should be in the works, considering the fact that the late Hannah Baker’s story was left open-ended, as well as the other character arcs in the show.
Actress Kate Walsh, who plays Hannah’s mother, is the latest cast member who have joined public opinion about “13 Reasons Why” getting renewed. Walsh said that a second season indeed is “possible,” citing another popular show as an example.
"No one wanted to see “Fargo” the series. They thought it was an abomination and blasphemy against the Coen Brothers, even though it had the Coen Brothers' blessing, but when you have a great writer who has a great imagination, I think that anything's possible. I would trust [show creator Brian Yorkey] implicitly,” she said.
With actor Ross Butler, who played Zach in the series, leaving “Riverdale” (he plays Reggie Mantle in The CW drama) reportedly due to unavailability, the buzz surrounding “13 Reasons Why” getting a second season is getting stronger by the minute.
Meanwhile, actress Selena Gomez, who is executive producer in “13 Reasons Why,” said that should they continue to make any future episodes, it will most likely be focused on the main characters following Hannah’s death.
“We know there are so many stories that lie beneath each character,” Gomez recently said.
