“A Series of Unfortunate Events” season 4 is not coming despite the fans’ anticipation for more episodes. This means that the show is officially ending with the third season that is currently airing on Netflix. The viewers can binge-watch the last seven episodes of the series since the stories were dropped all at once.
What’s On Netflix reported that the non-renewal for “A Series of Unfortunate Events” season 4 is already confirmed. In fact, the third season’s finale was aptly called “The End” as the story of the Baudelaires and the V.F.D. concludes right there.
Then again, it was revealed that the end of the fantasy drama was already planned a long time ago so when “A Series of Unfortunate Events” season 4 was not renewed, the cast was not surprised at all. in fact, Neil Patrick Harris (Count Olaf) explained last year that their show will not go beyond the third installment.
"That was always the journey, for everyone involved," Harris told Digital Spy. "This is a big, big show. It's a beast. Every book is two episodes, and every episode is an hour long so we're making a two-hour movie every book, and there are 13 books. So 26 feature films is essentially what we're making here.”
He went on to say, "From the beginning, we wanted to honor the encyclopedic and brilliant work of Lemony Snicket author Daniel Handler. It ends so operatically, and yet the ending is so heartfelt and so grown-up. I don't know where else anyone would want to go with it."
Meanwhile, despite the fact that “A Series of Unfortunate Events” season 4 is not coming anymore, Screen Rant suggested that in place of another installment, there could be spin-off instead. This idea came up since the Lemony Snicket author has more books related to the Baudelaires so there could be more stories to tell.
