The highly anticipated Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 475 is slated for a 2024 release, continuing the brand’s successful partnership. Meanwhile, Stone Island reunites with New Balance for three new 991v2 colorways, set to drop on September 26th, aligned with their FW24 "Ghost" collection.
Aimé Leon Dore Revives New Balance 475 with Two New Colorways, Continuing Iconic Collaboration
According to Sneaker News, New Balance has mastered the art of reviving archived models, as evidenced by the widespread popularity of the New Balance 550, 1906R, and 860v2. A common factor in their resurgence has been the collaboration with Aimé Leon Dore (ALD), which consistently helps breathe new life into forgotten silhouettes.
ALD founder Teddy Santis, who also serves as the creative director for New Balance’s MADE in USA program, has helped solidify the strong relationship between the two brands. Their partnership often reintroduces iconic models, and now, Aimé Leon Dore is set to release two new colorways of the New Balance 475, further igniting interest in the silhouette’s revival.
Images of the grey/green ALD x New Balance 475, teased earlier this year by Santis, show intricate details, including stitched New Balance quarter logos and a pre-aged leather back tab that evokes a vintage feel—trademarks of ALD's aesthetic. The second colorway, featuring a mix of blue, navy, yellow, and red, offers a more playful and preppy look reminiscent of the ALD x New Balance 997 pack from 2019.
While a broad release date has yet to be confirmed, early access emails with purchase links have reportedly been sent to select Aimé Leon Dore customers.
Stone Island and New Balance Unveil 991v2 Trio, Aligning with “Ghost” FW24 Camouflage Collection
In another collaboration, Stone Island and New Balance, two iconic UK fashion labels, continue their partnership with a trio of New Balance 991v2 colorways. Following their successful joint venture on the New Balance 574, this new release brings all-cream, all-olive, and all-black versions of the 991v2, with each colorway draped in neutral tones for a sleek and premium look.
As with much of Stone Island’s apparel, the details make these shoes stand out. The UK brand’s emblem is boldly displayed on the tongue, and translucent outsole details add a subtle yet impactful touch. Each colorway aligns with Stone Island’s upcoming “Ghost” FW24 collection, centered around a camouflage theme, further connecting the brand's iconic aggressive design to the New Balance collaboration.
The Stone Island New Balance 991v2 "Ghost" collection will be available on the Stone Island website and in stores starting September 26th, with a broader release expected shortly after that.
