AirPods 2 is definitely coming out in the first half of 2019. At least, that’s what BGR claims. According to the site, it got its information from one Ming Chi-Kuo, an individual who’s has a history of correctly predicting when Apple products come out.
Aside from AirPods 2, the AirPower Charger will also come out in the same period. This coincides with other rumors claiming that Apple is planning to pair the wireless earphones with the AirPower Charger to appeal to the global market.
This means that at the earliest, the AirPods 2 and AirPower Charger could hit the shelves in June. It was initially speculated that both devices would come out as early as March. But given that the Apple event taking place that month is focused more on content rather than hardware, that’s unlikely to happen, Metro reported.
So what can fans expect from the AirPods 2? One of the most convenient features of the wireless earphones is the inclusion of Siri into its tech. With a simple phrase, users can activate the virtual assistant with ease, removing the need to physically interact with the device.
AirPods 2 will also appeal to fitness buffs as it’s been outfitted with biometric sensors. This will allow the device to monitor a user’s heart rate. In tandem with this feature is the AirPod 2’s capability to keep track of a person’s stroke volume, which would then allow it to calculate cardiac output, TechRadar reported.
Another feature of the AirPods 2 is how it can adjust the volume of ambient noise for users. This means that it will allow people to hear their surroundings while listening to music during a job. As for the price of the device, it’s being rumored that it’s been tagged with a similar cost compared to its predecessor. With all the features mentioned above, $159 is a good price mark for the device. However, since Samsung announced that their new Galaxy Buds will cost $129, then Apple might see some competition in this regard.
