In the ever-increasing need for connectivity in the modern world, it makes sense that something like the iPhone SE would fit so well among a certain demographic. It allowed customers to own something of an official Apple brand without having to pay an arm and a leg for it. That particular device has since been axed, but the Apple iPhone XE might just signal a return in support of lagging high-end sales.
To be clear, there are currently no indications that Apple is planning to abandon its more expensive devices for more affordable products. However, it can’t be denied that interest for high-end iPhones has been dropping, which can be seen via the sales of the recent iterations. In the case of the Apple iPhone XE, the company could be seeing hope in the affordable device. That is, if the rumors of it being the spiritual successor to the SE are true, as RetailNews notes.
It’s worth pointing out that most of what is currently known about the Apple iPhone XE comes from speculations. This includes the part about the device being the successor of the Apple iPhone SE, which was discontinued last year. That particular move disappointed a lot of people who liked the idea of a smaller Apple device that offers many of the perks of its higher-end cousins.
Among the rumors that are coming out with regards to the Apple, iPhone XE is that it will have similar designs to the iPhone XS. It will also supposedly come with Face ID, which should be fine considering that it will only have a 4.8-inch OLED display. For those wondering, there is likely to be no wireless charging since the back case will likely be aluminum.
On the matter of when the Apple iPhone XE is coming out, there is currently no news on that front. Speculations do put the launch date somewhere later this year.
