New Game Plus is a feature in a lot of games with a long history in the industry. Assassin’s Creed titles are not typically known for having this feature, however, which has never been an issue for fans. It seems Assassin’s Creed Origins developers thought that it was time to add the mode to the series. While more information is needed, this could mean that a souped-up Bayek can start beating enemies like a drum from the get-go.
Prior to Origins, AC games followed a rather basic formula. Upgrade the character throughout the game with new equipment and stats, thus making the fights even easier than it was. What really made the franchise difficult, however, were other gameplay elements aside from the combat. Tailing missions can be particularly infuriating.
In the new game, enemies became much more challenging, thus closing off certain areas to players. In a recent Reddit post, veteran Origins players can start demolishing enemies with the upcoming New Game Plus mode.
Without providing more specific details, Ubisoft community representative “domvgt” only said that the feature was coming. Typically, this means that after finishing the game, players can go back with all of the equipment and levels that they obtained at the end of their first playthrough.
As Digital Trends notes, Origins can accommodate the mode because it is structured with less rigidity than previous AC games. In past iterations, for example, certain equipment sets are tied to certain parts of the story. As such, it wouldn’t make much sense to allow players to have those tools when playing via New Game Plus.
With Origins, players have a lot more freedom to roam and do as they please, with only high-level enemies to deter them from going too far into the story before they are ready. With the new mode, gamers have extra incentive to dive back into the experience.
