The biggest boy band in the world today is no other than the South Korean group called BTS. All of their music and TV show releases are hits, so it is no wonder that the group is dominating the Japanese music charts as well.
They are world-famous and have topped music charts all over the world, and recently, it was reported that BTS is making waves in the said country after the release of its latest Japanese album titled “Map of the Soul: 7 - The Journey.” This is a full-length album that also includes some of the self-composed song pieces of the members.
BTS’ new Japanese album
For instance, Jungkook trended on social media not long ago after it was revealed that one of the songs in the album called “Your Eyes Tell” was his work. As per Allkpop, Jungkook trended not just in South Korea, but his name topped the trends in Japan and other regions.
At any rate, with the “Map of the Soul: 7 - The Journey” album, BTS clinched another milestone in their seven-year musical career. Forbes reported that this Japanese release sold over 500,000 copies in Japan, and this was the number in just two days since its release.
This number made BTS’ album as one of the most successful albums this year, not just in Japan but in other countries as well. It was said that the total sales for the first two days was 502,844.
The secret to the success of the band
BTS is undoubtedly one of the most successful groups in history and in fact, they were even compared to the British superstar band Beatles. With the success of the band, Big Hit Entertainment CEO, Bang Si Hyuk revealed that the secret to their great achievements is allowing the members to do what they want. Their agency also practices systems that are not common in most Kpop idol systems.
“We talked about whether we would be able to continue this success for another seven years, The Star quoted Bang as saying. “We will give seven more years but give us the acknowledgment that we deserve for the successes that we have achieved and reflect it in the contract."
