BTS will be one of the recipients of this year’s Dubai Walk of Fame event. With this new recognition, the South Korean boy band proved once again that they are the hottest group in the world today.
Dubai announced its plan to give a star to BTS via social media. On July 1, the Dubai Stars tweeted, “A Dubai Star is now dedicated to the popular South Korean boy band from Seoul @bts_bighit. Will you be cheering for them at our launch event this October?”
The awarding of the star
As mentioned in the tweet, the ceremony will be held in October. It was said that BTS’ fanbase ARMY also made it possible for the group to be given the star when local fans voted for them to be included in the Walk of Fame.
BTS will be joining the list of star holder in Dubai such as football superstar Lionel Messi and “King of Bollywood” actor Shah Rukh Khan. As per The National, the Dubai stars project was revealed in March 2018, and it is located in Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard in Downtown Dubai.
The Dubai Walk of Fame
It was reported that about 10,000 stars are set to be fixed in the location, and fans will be voting to determine the 400 Dubai stars who will be added to the walk. It will be unveiled in October, and everyone is expecting famous names in the field of art, sports, architecture, literature, and even the most followed social influencers.
Apparently, the Walk of Fame star that will be given to BTS in Dubai clearly shows how popular the group is in UAE. The group also topped the music charts in this region, especially on the iTunes.
Meanwhile, BTS is releasing its second movie called “Bring the Soul: The Movie.” It will be released worldwide on Aug. 7, in select theaters. The film will show how the team prepared for their “Love Yourself” tour in Europe, so there will be lots of behind-the-scenes. It also promised never before seen footages as the group tours and enjoy some their free time whenever they can.
