The official “Battlefield 2042” Season 1 gameplay reveal is happening in a few hours, but several details about the update have already leaked. It appears that there will not be that much new content to expect, considering the first season is launching more than six months since the base game became available.
DICE confirmed that the official “Battlefield 2042” Season 1 preview will be released on Tuesday, June 7, through the game’s official YouTube channel. The developer has also released a 20-second teaser on Twitter, where eagle-eyed fans saw a glimpse of a Specialist and a helicopter.

This lines up with a more recent leak from Tom Henderson, who claimed that “Battlefield 2042” Season 1 -- titled “Zero Hour” -- will add a new Specialist to the game. DICE is also expected to introduce two helicopters, two weapons, and a new map. Considering the delay for the first batch of additional content for the game, the leaker deemed this to be an underwhelming list. “Zero Hour needs rebranding to Zero Content,” Henderson commented.

Online multiplayer shooter titles typically get the first seasonal content shortly after the base game is released. However, DICE needed to prioritize the game’s performance and other issues in the months after it was launched, which explains why the “Battlefield 2042” Season 1 is only being revealed now.
While fans are welcome to take these details with caution, note that Henderson correctly reported about the June 7 reveal date a few days before DICE’s official announcement on Twitter. In an earlier report (via Try Hard Guides) on June 4, Henderson claimed there will be three separate trailers planned to be released for “Battlefield 2042” Season 1. One will be dedicated for the season reveal, another for the new Specialist reportedly named Evelina Lis and the third one for Battle Pass.
The same leaker also said the “suggested” release date for “Battlefield 2042” Season 1 is on Thursday, June 9. Henderson noted that the date would be finalized once DICE holds a play session for the new content. However, he reported around Monday noon (Eastern time) that journalists and content creators are having problems playing the content update for their hands-on reviews “because of errors.”
