“Battlefield 6” could be one of the upcoming games that will add a Battle Royale gameplay, at least, according to a known video game leaks reporter. EA DICE, the studio developing the next first-person shooter, has reportedly taken an interest in the online multiplayer mode after seeing the gaming community’s positive response to “Call of Duty: Warzone.”
‘Battlefield 6’ gameplay rumors
Battle Royale gameplay has become very popular over recent years, especially after the success of “PUBG.” The game was later joined in that category by other titles such as “Fortnite,” “Apex Legends,” and “CoD: Warzone.” The latter was just released last March on consoles and PC.
Known leaker Tom Henderson recently put out a series of tweets with insider information about “Battlefield 6.” “There's also been increased interest in Battle Royale due to the success of Warzone,” Henderson wrote.
The reporter, however, noted that adding a Battle Royale mode in “Battlefield 6” has not been confirmed by the developers yet. But with “Call of Duty” being practically the “Battlefield” counterpart, it is not surprising to hear that DICE is interested in launching something similar to “Warzone.”
Because details about this have not been finalized yet, fans can consider the features on “Warzone” as some of the possibilities for the rumored “Battlefield 6” feature. “Warzone” was first advertised as part of the “CoD: Modern Warfare” purchase, but it was ultimately released as a free-to-play title. It would help widen “Battlefield’s” horizon to offer the same service.
While the Battle Royale aspect is not set in stone yet, Henderson added that “Battlefield 6” maps were “designed” to accommodate more than 128 players every match. The leaker, however, clarified that it does not automatically mean the next game is switching to a 64v64 format since 32v32 is reportedly still the “standard playlist.”
‘Battlefield 6’ release date
Many things are still unknown for “Battlefield 6.” Aside from the changes in the gameplay aspect, fans have yet to hear a more specific release window for the game. What EA only confirmed about this matter is that the game would be released between April to December 2021, per a statement to VGC.
