‘Before I Wake’ debuts its newest official trailer featuring Kate Bosworth and Thomas Jane as the adoptive parents of a boy who’s dreams and nightmares turn into reality.
According to Comingsoon.net, Relativity Studios released the newest trailer for director Mike Flanagan’s upcoming supernatural horror film. Kate Bosworth and Thomas Jane play Jessie and Mark, a grief-stricken couple who adopts a seemingly sweet 8-year old boy following the death of their own son. Jacob Tremblay plays Cody, the haunted adoptive son of Jessie and Mark.
Cody refuses to fall asleep as his dreams and nightmares are translated into reality. The trailer showed a number of things that begin appearing in the couple’s home soon after Cody drifts off to sleep including glowing butterflies and other insects. Although Cody’s dreams seem harmless and imaginative at first, they soon morph into terrifying entities.
Jessie and Mark need to explore the cause of his nightmares as well as uncover the truth behind his supernatural ability. The film also stars Dash Mihok and Annabeth Gish. It was initially slated to premiere last year but experienced delays along the way.
According to /Film, the film was originally completed back in 2013. It was acquired by Relativity Media in 2014 and was scheduled to be released in 2015.
However, the company suffered great financial losses and was forced to pull out the film from its roster. It was then rescheduled to an April 2016 outing but was delayed again for a September 2016 release.
Director Mike Flanagan is best known for his work in the horror genre including 2011’s ‘Absentia’, 2013’s ‘Oculus’, and 2016’s ‘Hush’. He is set to write, edit and direct the upcoming ‘Ouija: Origin of Evil’ scheduled to bow in theaters on October this year.
‘Before I Wake’ is a supernatural horror film scheduled to be released on September 9, 2016 in the United States. It is produced by Sam Englebardt, William D. Johnson and Trevor Macy with Mali Elfman, David Greathouse, Lew Horwitz, Michael Ilitch Jr., Dale Armin Johnson, D. Scott Lumpkin, Julie B. May, and Glenn Murray executive producing.
