Ben Affleck was repeatedly reported going to the gym while he was completing his in-patient rehab program that started last August. The results of his workouts have become visible in more recent photos and sparked speculations that he could possibly reprise his role as Batman on the big screen.
Reports take note of the improvements that are being linked to Affleck's regular gym visits. His physique is even likened to the figure that Batman would have, thus encouraging many to hope that he could be preparing for the Dark Knight role.
However, this speculation should be taken with a pinch of salt. Reliable news outlets ran articles that Affleck is no longer up to wear his Batman costume again.
While Ben Affleck’s departure from the DC Universe for the big screen has not been officially confirmed yet, it seems like that has become the trend for other stars as well. A few weeks ago, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Henry Cavill and his reps had decided to no longer deal with Warner Bros. for another Superman appearance. And one of the reasons could be similar to the Dark Knight actor's situation.
There were reports claiming that Affleck is also set to leave the DC Universe as the Dark Knight for good. THR reported earlier this year that Warner Bros. is eyeing to release more prequel-like movies. For example, writer and director Matt Reeves purportedly worked on a script focused on the Dark Knight’s younger days — which means they would need a younger actor to fill the role.
In other news, Affleck is continuously receiving treatment and working on staying sober. After finishing his 30-day rehab program, sources say he is still working with a sobriety coach and attending therapy sessions.
On Sunday, Ben Affleck was spotted attending a church service with estranged wife Jennifer Garner and their three children. Then on Wednesday, he was seen spending time with rumored girlfriend, Playboy model Shauna Sexton.
