“Better Call Saul” Season 5 is shaping up to be crime drama series’ best yet as the show’s timeline is inching towards the gripping events of “Breaking Bad.” At the moment, Jimmy has now fully donned his professional name of being Saul Goodman, the distasteful titular lawyer that fans have come to love.
And since this transformation will be deeply explored in “Better Call Saul” Season 5, Jimmy’s relationship with Kim (Rhea Seehorn) will be deteriorating further. It was initially assumed that this bond will be severed in the fourth installment but that speculation proved to be off the mark, Express reported.
However, it did set up the eventual falling out of Jimmy and Kim in “Better Call Saul” Season 5 as the latter has now seen through the insincerity of his partner. Some fans are worried that Kim will be written off in the upcoming entry given that she wasn’t present during the run of “Breaking Bad.” Right now, it’s still unclear what exactly are the writers planning for this character.
Showrunner Peter Gould said that while Kim’s departure will occur sometime in the future, it’s not necessarily going to end up in death. Perhaps Kim will simply burn the bridge connecting her and Jimmy in “Better Call Saul” Season 5. After all, Kim has been written as a character who can make such a heavy decision for herself.
And speaking of bridges, the meth super lab is expected to go fully operational in the fifth installment, solidifying the association of the crime drama series with its source material. This means that “Better Call Saul” Season 5 could see the arrival of Jesse (Aaron Paul) and Walter White (Bryan Cranston).
Paul himself previously said that they’re more than willing to reprise their respective roles should Vince Gilligan approach them to do so. The actor added that they’re confident that Gilligan will provide a satisfying story for the series’ narrative similar to what he’s done with “Breaking Bad.” As for when fans can expect “Better Call Saul” Season 5 to drop, it’s being speculated that it will come out sometime in August, ScreenRant reported.
