The finale of “Better Call Saul” is coming up next and although it is sad, fans would have to say goodbye to the drama that has been on air in the last five years. The series is leaving after the sixth season and it was explained why it can’t continue to go beyond this number.
Why the drama can’t do more episodes after “Better Call Saul” season 6
Since the beginning, the showrunners of this drama already said that they have no intention of doing more seasons after the sixth. This is because they do not want to surpass the number of the seasons made by the drama where “Better Call Saul” was based on.
It should be noted that “BCS” is a prequel of “Breaking Bad” that ended after six seasons. As this is only a prequel that presented the story of one of the “Breaking Bad” characters which is Saul Goodman, the bosses are firmed with their decision not to extend the show in a manner that would surpass the original.
In any case, “Better Call Saul” season 6 has been confirmed even before the fifth installment was released. Now, since this is connected to “Breaking Bad” fans are also hoping that Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston would appear for a cameo role. Fortunately, the two actors said that they are willing to be in the show if invited.
"We always get asked about Better Call Saul and whether Jesse or Walt are gonna show up on that show. I don't know how many times we've gotta tell Vince that we're ready to do it," Screen Rant quoted Cranston as saying. "I just don't think he loves us anymore."
The predicted twist in the finale
In any case, since “Better Call Saul” season 6 is going to be the last, there are lots of speculations about what can be expected from it. There are also theories about the turn of events in the series but one remarkable suggestion is related to Kim Wexler who has married Jimmy McGill in season 5.
While it has long been shared that McGill will finally turn to Saul Goodman, this has not fully happened yet in the previous installment so his full transformation is expected in the finale. For a twist, it was revealed that it is not just McGill who is changing but his wife as well. She is said to have started leaning on the bad side too which is not her original character.
This theory seemed to have been confirmed by Rhea Seehorn, the actress portraying Wexler in “Better Call Saul” season 6. She said in an interview with The New York Times that her character has changed in the upcoming episodes.
She said that Kim is now a different person just like Jimmy and for fans, this is a big twist since they are originally expecting her to pull her husband back on the right path instead of becoming a full-blown crook person.
Meanwhile, “Better Call Saul” season 6 may be arriving in 2022. There is a delay in filming due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
