“Blue Bloods” season 9 is airing in three weeks and fans will be greeted with many changes when it finally arrives. Although many interesting twists are expected in the new installment, there are key points and main scenes that should not be missed. Below are three major spoilers to look forward to:
Danny Reagan
As per TV Insider, ‘Blue Bloods’ season 9 will premiere with an episode titled "Playing with Fire.” In this pilot telecast, Frank Reagan’s oldest child, Danny Reagan, will be in a risky situation after he got involved in a drug cartel case.
Danny was forced to investigate a drug cartel member who he thinks was the one who burned down his house. Taking this as a personal case, he may be in some serious trouble. Incidentally, the house-torching incident is probably where episode 1’s title is based on.
Jamie and Eddie
The highlight of “Blue Bloods” season 9 is probably the engagement of Jamie and Eddie as this means that they will get married this season. For years, viewers have been rooting for the pair as they have shown excellent chemistry in their scenes together.
However, there could be a bit of setback for Jamie and Eddie because although the Reagan patriarch has nothing against their relationship, he does not want them to work side by side, which is what they are planning to do. This means Frank will not allow them to be in the same patrol car when doing their work.
Since this is the case, there will be a lengthy argument. Will Frank give in?
Erin Reagan
Frank Reagan’s lawyer daughter, Erin, will have a new title in “Blue Bloods” season 9. She will be promoted to the DA's office but her new position comes with challenges. Aside from tough work in the office, she will also be in a difficult situation as her brothers may come to her for help with their respective investigations.
Her current job allows her to have more access to cases, thus Danny and Jamie may take advantage of this and directly ask for her assistance. But in the end, can she help them?
New Faces and Guests
“Blue Bloods” season 9 will feature a few important guests, who include Lou Diamond Phillips and Aasif Mandvi. The former will appear in episode 1 as the drug cartel member named Louis Delgado. He is the person that Danny will investigate, while the latter will appear as Erin's co-worker, Samar, who is eyeing an open DA seat.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Bebe Neuwirth will also be in three episodes of “Blue Bloods” season 9 as the new inspector general.
When Will It Premiere?
“Blue Bloods” season 9 will debut on Sept. 28 at 10 p.m. on CBS. It is expected to maintain its high ratings when it premieres in the same time slot on Friday nights.
